Our event will be held at the Lakeland Union High School (LUHS). Money raised at this event will be donated to the LUHS Model UN club.

The doors will open at 7:00 for early registration and packet pickup. 

Prizes will be given to the best dressed fools and judged during the race.

EVENT DETAILS:

Come in Costume! Special awards given to the Best Dressed Fool and Best Dressed Groups of Fools. Registration begins at 7:00 at the in the south entrance of the school.  Take pictures in front of the Giant Running Fool located near the finish line. The 5k begins promptly at 10:00 pm. The cost per individual is $30 for pre-registration $35 for day-of-event registration. A 5K Family (up to 5 participants) can pre-register for $90; $100 on Race Day.

T-Shirts are guaranteed if you pre-register online ONLY. Race Day participants may receive a shirt based upon availability.

Each person registering will receive a glow necklace to light your way around the course.

No Busing necessary this year as the course starts and ends at the same location.

There will be 8 Aid Stations on the course plus the Finish.  The course aid stations will have water.  Gatorade will be at mile 5, 7, 12, 17, 22, and 24.   The finish line will have snacks, water, Gatorade, and beer.

Event Description

The course was tested last year and participants had rave reviews but noted it was a challenging course.  The course is a loop course beginning and ending at the Minocqua Park Complex on Hwy 70 West in Minocqua. A portion of the marathon will include the Bearskin Trail but the majority of the mileage will be logged on county roads in Oneida County. The course is certified for the Boston Marathon (WI20009DM) by an authorized Boston Marathon certifying agency. The race will start in waves spaced with 30 second separation between wave releases. The waves are determined by your estimated finish time with the fastest runners going out first.

Blue Raven's beneficiary partner this year will be the Minocqua Island Business Association. The Minocqua Island Business Association is a non profit organization promoting dine, shop, stay and play on the beautiful Island of Minocqua. Showcasing the Minocqua Island as a premier year round tourist destination while giving locals fun and engaging activities and events. MIBA is proud to give 50% of all profits to 2 local charities.  25% to the local Food pantry and 25% to Gracie's Place, a children's therapy and family resource center.

ON PACE RACE will again be on the course to set the pace for your skill and ability level.  Look for their banner at the start of the Marathon and Half Marathon.   

 

Awards:

Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K - Overall Male and Female 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, and First Place Marathon Relay.

There are no age group awards for this event.

Paws on the Run Mail In Registration

Paws on the Run Event Description

Start your day with a walk/run with or without your dog(s) before the Minocqua Paws in the Park event starts on Saturday, June 19.  The 3rd annual race begins and ends on Lakeshore Drive in front of the Minocqua Brewery.   Event check in and Race Day Registration begins at 7:00 am in Torpy Park downtown Minocqua WI.  The race starts promptly at 8:00 am.   If you don't have a dog, no worries, you can still participate in the event and join in the fun.  We have added an awards category for those who could not bring a dog.  This 5K event is open to anyone that enjoys being around mans best friend.

Only online registrations received before June 7 will be guaranteed a t-shirt because that's our order deadline.

Bring a leash or a running harness attached to your belt.  All dogs must be kept under control and be up to date on all vaccinations.  Owners are responsible for their dog's behavior.  This is a great excuse to get a little exercise and enjoy quality time with your dog.

Refreshments will be provided for both the owners and the dogs.

Event Check In

Check in on on Race Day will be held at Torpy Park from 7:00 until 7:45.  The race starts promptly at 8:00.  Early online registration is only $25 per human but on Race Day registration costs go up to $30 per human if accompanied by 1 or 2 dogs.

There will be 2 Doggy Divisions:

30 lbs &Under and 31 lbs & Over

We have also added a "No Dog" division, Human mental health.

This year, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each division.

Event Description

Name: Run with the Cops 5K

The Minocqua Professional Police Association (MPPA) is hosting a Run with the Cops 5k. All proceeds will go to our non-profit association which helps fund several causes including our shop-with-a-cop program, helping families in need, and sponsoring school baseball teams. The goal of the MPPA is to not only host an event to support the community but to host a fun and relaxed event to create relationships with the community. Lastly, this run will have a cops and robbers theme, so put on your best costume!

Race Fees:

  • Kids race:  12& under:  FREE
  • 13 & Older:  $30; $35 on Race Day

Race Times

The timed 5K Run/Walk will begin at 9:00

Race Day Registration and Packet Pick-up

Registration opens at 8:00 am at Torpy Park.

 

1st, 2nd & 3rd place overall Male and Female will receive a medal

There are no age group awards this year.

Run with the Cops route

Run with the Cops 5k will take place and start at the Torpy Park Pavilion in Minocqua, WI. The run will go on to the Bearskin Trail, turn on Dr Pink Drive, turn on to Old Highway 70, and then turn on to Highway 51 South along Lake Minocqua finishing at Torpy Park.

Run the Bearskin Trail.  Fast, flat point to point race starting at Nokomas Community Park and finishes at the Bearskin Park in Minocqua.

The Minocqua No Frills Marathon™ & Half- Marathon keeps it simple and affordable because, at this marathon, it’s all about the race. The race accommodates those who aspire to run their first marathon, as well as veteran runners trying to better their times or qualify for the Boston Marathon (certification #WI12035DM).

ON PACE RACE will again be on the course to set the pace for your skill and ability level.  Look for their banner at the start of the Marathon and Half Marathon.

No Frills Marathon and Half Marathon VOLUNTEER SIGN UP 9-5-2021

It's the Sunday before Labor Day.  Cheer on the participants as they run past your aid station

Thank you for considering signing up to volunteer to man the Water Stations for the Minocqua No Frills Marathon. Select the water station with the arrival and departure time that fits your schedule. The location is identified with each selection.

Volunteers will receive a complimentary T-Shirt for up to 2 per water station. T-shirts may be picked up at the American Legion Saturday night during registration. You can sign up with your shirt size or register with "I don't want a t-shirt."

Volunteers provide water and Gatorade to runners as they pass their location. Water stations volunteers work 2-3 hours on the trail and are eligible for an event t-shirt. Runners, sign up your family. It's easy and entertaining.

Plan to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time. The tables, chairs, garbage can, garbage bags, water, and Gatorade will be delivered to each water station Saturday evening. Instructions for the water station are provided below and will be included in your confirmation email.

NOTE: Some of the water stations will have a RELAY Team transition, and one will be the start of the Half Marathon.

 

Some water stations will have gummy candies.  Put a few pieces in a cup for the participants.

Water stations will have Gatorade and water in bulk coolers or in a case of bottles, please fill a cups 2/3 full and offer it to runners as they pass by.

Place your trash can a short distance down from your water table. Keep your area clean and pick up all trash before you leave.

Fold your table and chairs up and place the trash bag nearby. There will be a sweeping crew coming by to pick it up. Make it easy for them.

Check the weather. A jacket or rain gear or sun screen protection may be useful. Also, the water stations are located on a wooded trail. A cap and bug spray may prove valuable depending upon weather conditions.

The area's only Turkey Trot welcomes friends and families to trot through the streets and trails of Minocqua/Woodruff before the Thanksgiving feast begins. Event Description

Join us for the 4th Annual 2021 Minocqua Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk on Thanksgiving Day. The area's only Turkey Trot welcomes friends and families to trot through the streets and trails of Minocqua/Woodruff before the Thanksgiving feast begins.  The Turkey Trot begins and ends at the Evangelical Free Church in Woodruff.  The facility is perfect for hosting the event with warm areas for social distancing and convenient rest rooms.

We continue to plan for hosting a safe event.  Everyone entering the Church will be required to wear a mask and hand sanitize.   Social distancing will be enforced.  There will be an abbreviated award ceremony so everyone can leave with their awards without gathering inside.

The cost per individual is $30 for pre-registration $35 for day-of-event registration.  A 5K Family (up to 5 participants) can pre-register for $90; $100 on Race Day.

EVENT SHIRTS WILL BE GUARANTEED ONLY FOR THOSE REGISTERING ONLINE.

Blue Raven has partnered with the Evangelical Free Church to help community projects and support missionaries.  All sponsorship money will be split between the Lakeland Food Pantry and support of their mission in Guatemala.
