The Minocqua No Frills Marathon™ & Half- Marathon keeps it simple and affordable because, at this marathon, it’s all about the race. The race accommodates those who aspire to run their first marathon, as well as veteran runners trying to better their times or qualify for the Boston Marathon.  Due to safety concerns regarding the Coronavirus, start times will occur in waves starting 30 seconds apart to limit the number of participants starting at the same time.

For a number of reasons including the safety of our staff, volunteers, and participants, the Minocqua “No Frills’ Marathon venue has been changed from the traditional point to point route beginning in Lake Nokomis to a loop course beginning and ending at the Minocqua Park Complex on Hwy 70 West in Minocqua.   A portion of the marathon will include the Bearskin Trail but the majority of the mileage will be logged on county roads in Oneida County.  The course will be certified for the Boston Marathon by an authorized Boston Marathon certifying agency.  Due to safety concerns regarding the Coronavirus, start times will occur in waives to limit the number of participants starting at the same time.  A 30 second separation will occur between wave releases.  The waves are determined by your estimated finish time with the fastest runners going out first.

ON PACE RACE will again be on the course to set the pace for your skill and ability level.  Look for their banner at the start of the Marathon and Half Marathon.   This year On Pace is offering On Pace Space which is designed to assist in social distancing by starting in Pace Groups of 40 or less participants.  Be healthy. Be safe.
